...shouts for joy when she get things right...

What they shared

I just need to know where! We just found out that our little one is 2 years behind with maths and think that she has auditory processing and working memory difficulties. We were wondering how to help her best to help her during out lock down as the school work she was being sent she couldn't access. We felt she has lost confidence because of the pace of school, and we think she had given up with maths just because she couldn't get the answers right and was much slower. Started her on the initial test and levels but thten the questions just frightened her as she seemed to not be able to process hte questions. She's nearly 9 so we re- started her on the Kndergarten level because thought that perhaps building her confidence and being able to answer the questions and get them right would keep her engaged. After 10 days she has just gone past level that she was initially reached and she is for the first time in her life enjoying maths and shouts for joy when she get things right. We never, ever expected to see this, total engagement and now she is just telling me things like mummy 2 x 9 is 18 but doesn't really know how she knows it... something has stuck and it's really working. Thankyou
