My student is struggling in the program, what is the better option to help my student?
Option 1: We can pause any subjects that are too challenging and revisit them once other subjects have been completed. Option 2: You may choose to work with the student, and we are available to assist. If the student has made significant progress and remains confident, this is the preferred option. You can review any missed questions through the history screen. We recommend using a web browser for optimal screen space. By clicking "Try" on any missed questions, you can play in parent mode, which will not affect the student’s score. This provides insight into the concepts being taught. Have the student answer the questions, even if incorrect, and ask them to explain their reasoning. This will help identify misconceptions, allowing you to offer hints or guidance. If needed, please reach out to us for further support. Misconceptions vary widely, so we avoid instructing directly— for example, one parent discovered that their student confused "older" with "taller," which impacted their understanding of subtraction. It’s essential to address the student’s understanding to avoid frustration. Option 3: If the student has experienced a loss of confidence but has shown significant progress, we recommend having them retake the placement exam based on their current Elephant Age. This will allow the student to return to their appropriate level quickly, and any need for material review will be automatically identified and addressed.
